Support manual for public school education professionals
Would you like to make a graffiti mural in your school and discuss the issue of domestic violence?
Rede NAMI’s Support Manual was created to support teachers and educators in developing a graffiti workshop that addresses the prevention of domestic violence against women. The proposal uses art as an educational tool for young people to understand and identify the five types of domestic violence set out in the Maria da Penha Law.
About the Support Manual
Since 2008, Rede NAMI has been running workshops that combine art and education as a tool to combat domestic violence, especially against women.
Over the years, this work has also strengthened the protagonism of women, especially black women, who take these workshops to their communities, schools and workplaces, expanding social transformation.
The Manual’s proposal is to hold graffiti workshops with young people, reflecting on domestic violence against women and resulting in the creation of murals with messages about rights and confronting violence.
The material was developed with the support of educators and specialists, and can be adapted for different age groups. Based on more than a decade of work in more than 100 schools and communities, the method complies with the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA) and reaffirms the collective commitment to eradicating gender violence.
